The dates for the Sixth Annual Saints and Sinners Literary Festival are May 8 to 11, 2008. Dorothy Allison, Mark Doty, Jim Grimsley, Stephen McCauley, Val McDermid, Tim Miller, and Michelle Tea are already confirmed for next year and we hope that you will join us in the French Quarter for a weekend of literary revelry. We are expecting this festival to be the best ever. Master’s classes have already been confirmed and we encourage you to take a look at the schedule post on the web. Panels are being assembled and a number of exciting social events are also being planned.

As the festival enters its sixth year, we would like to ask your help in achieving a goal of raising $20,000 between now and December 31. As many of you already know, Saints and Sinners is currently completely organized by unpaid volunteers. It is truly a labor of love as all of the work is done without monetary compensation. Our fundraising goal would allow us to hire a much-needed, part-time office assistant to help with the pre-conference administrative work, and pay for general operating expenses to produce the event—venue rental, printing, advertising, etc. Additionally, donations would also go towards providing registration scholarships for individuals who otherwise might not be able to afford to register for the event.

With all of the problems and difficulties currently facing the LGBTQ publishing community, the role the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival plays in helping to support and connect our community of authors and publishers is needed more than ever. Please help to ensure the festival not only continues, but grows by becoming a premiere affiliate of our new Archangel Membership program.
