Festival NewsCELEBRATE WITH US! DONATE $25 for the XXV TO SUPPORT OUR ANNIVERSARY!

Since 1987, the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival has been supporting writers, thespians, and other cultural professionals during our annual Festival. In a world dominated by fast-paced commercialism, the Festival reminds us how a play, a book, or a song can change our lives.

Now, we’re making a wish…to throw the biggest celebration ever. Our 25th anniversary is also the cenTENNial birthday of the great playwright.

A non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization, the Festival relies upon donations from like-minded individuals. Now, as we plan for our best Fest, the ultimate fete, we invite others to help make it a reality.

By dedicating $25 for the 25th anniversary, or $100 for Tennessee’s 100th, you’ll be a part of making New Orleans, and the Tennessee Williams Festival, the place to celebrate. Or why not give more? Dedicate a gift of $250, $1000, or $2500 to our 2011 celebration.

If you'd like to give a different amount than is shown here, you can mail your gift made out to Tennessee Williams Literary Festival to 938 Lafayette Street, Suite 514 New Orleans, LA 70113.

Thank you for your support!

Festival NewsDakin Williams, 1919-2008

We are so sorry to report that Dakin Williams, Tennessee's brother and a frequent visitor to the Festival over the years, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Dakin enjoyed the Festival, joining in the activities year after year and chatting with Festival guests. He was in the panel of judges for the first Stella! contest; at the last contest he judged, he surprised everyone by walking to the front of the stage at Le Petit Theatre and declaring, "I've always wanted to do this..... STELLAAAAAAA!"

Dakin was a living connection to Tennessee Williams. We are sorrowed by his passing.
