Festival

The Festival takes place on one (usually) sultry weekend in March when the most illustrious and freshest names in the literary, theatrical, and cultural spheres descend on the French Quarter for five days of festivities.

This year, we have a fantastic line-up which includes: award-winning actress Piper Laurie, star of the Broadway production of Williams’ The Glass Menagerie; award-winning author Amy Hempel; NPR favorites Amy Dickinson and Nick Spitzer; playwright John Guare, biographer Nigel Hamilton; National Book Award Winner Jesmyn Ward; and a host of New Orleans authors who will be discussing their works at the Festival.

Local independent bookseller Garden District Book Shop will offer books for sale by Festival authors, along with special books about Louisiana and all things Tennessee.
